Home!

Sorry I havent written much lately I was having trouble with posting on my blogg! Today I flew back home....it was sad to say good-bye to the girls and of course Kent. Although I will see him in a few weeks I am a baby and cry when I leave him. But it wasnt all sad because Mom and Erin were waiting for me in T.O. It was really nice to see my family!!!!!
My last wek in Amsterdam was good. On wednesday night 3 of the girlfriends surprised me at our apartment with birthday dinner for me! They made kipsate (which is chicken skewer in peanut sauce) and a bean dish with rice, both were Indonesian, and it tasted amazing. They also got me the rebook sneakers I wanted. Kent took me shopping on Thursday for my bday gift, I got 3 shirts!!!!!!!! And at night we went to a club for my bday with some of the guys which was really fun. On my birthday Kent and I went and saw Avatar 3D and then had a nice steak dinner. We have been in the apartment and with his roomates alot it was nice getting time to just be with him. He also bought me a really yummy cake, which took 2 days and about 5 other people to finish it cuz it was so big. So for my first birthday with him he got an A (would ahve been A+ but he admitted to forgetting flowers, hehe)
Saturday night i watched my last game and said my good-byes to the girls =( which is sad because I never know if I will see them again. Sunday he had an away game so I went for dinner with a freind then waited for him to get home....didnt get too much time with him cuz he got in late but my countdown has already started for him to come home! Which is less then a month away!!!!!!!
My trip went by soooo fast it seems, I cant believe January is over already.I got to do/see alot while I was gone, and Kent didn't kick me out early so thats always a good sign too =) But I am happy to be home. I hope to see everyone real soon and thanks for keeping up with my blogg!

Last Few Days.....

So I am down to my last fews days in Amsterdam. I fly home on Monday....already. Time has gone by so fast I can't believe its already been a month. This past week or so nothing too exciting has happened. Kent had a few hockey games, unfortunately no wins. Sunday night we went to a club called Sugar Factory. It was alot of fun, they had dance music but also a guy on a Sax playing with it. The bars here are alot different then what we have at home so I really enjoy going out here. We also went to one the weekend before called Melkwig. Today I woke up at 9am (extremely early for me on this trip) and went to the Albert Cuyp Market, it has so much stuff for a good price. Tonight Kent has a home game so I am going to be going to that. In my last 4 days he has 3 games, only one away so Ill be spending my last night eating pizza alone (poor me-haha) He does have my birthday off but we dont have any plans right now for it. I hope everything is good in Canada, and not too cold. I want sunshine on Monday =)

So in 5 days ill be back home!!!!!!!!!!! I am excited to seeeee my family, especially momma! lol. Kent will be home in a month so I will survive (I think, hehe)

Great Time in Vienna

I am back in Amsterdam now, I flew in yesterday night. Just in time to catch the last 30sec of Kents game....which they won 3-2!!!!! Everyone said it was a great game to watch and that Kent played really well, its too bad I missed it.
Vienna was beautiful. The city is amazing like most european countries. On Wed night Aunt Shar and I went to a traditonal Austrian restaurant, where we had schnitzel, spaetzle and goulash (this was just the beginning of goulash and spaetzle). Thursday we spent the day at the Trade Show, I went off and went through the Exhibition where just about every country had a display. It was very interesting seeing what everywhere had to offer (although I couldnt read most of the info;as it as in German/Dutch, the pictures looked nice! ) I went to Dominican Republic where I got a Pina Colada, India where I became a princess, Tusian where I man made a tiny ceramic pot, Salzburgland which was like being at Oktoberfest.....so much to see and do.I went over to the Canada booth where I met the man running it who wouldnt even speak english to me.....he was German. And when I told him some stuff about Ontario he wasn't even sure what I was talking about. It kind of frusterated me a bit, I just wanted to go behind there ooth and take over. That night we went to another restaurant where we had spaetzle and goulash again.......and ended up a Pub which happened to be Karaoke Night. We did a few songs...but it was hard to take the mic from the Austrians who were very entertaining.
Friday I went touring on my own which was great because I got to see alot of stuff. The buildings are amazing there. I went to a Natural Historic Museum, which had just about everything you can think of inside. The dinosaur bones were really cool, again it was hard to read info since there was little english but it was like being in the movie A Night at the Museum. I rode the oldest Ferris Wheel in europe which gave you a great view of Vienna. I saw the Stephenson Cathedral which was gorgeous it looked like a massive painting in the middle of the shopping area. It was very gothic and dark which made it so fascinating.
And on Saturday evening it was all over. I would definately like to go back to Vienna there is so much more there that I didnt get to see but I am really happy I got the chance to go. I will put up a few pics I have ( I must have taken 300 of them)

Vienna on Wednesday!!

Not much to blog about today but I booked my flight to Vienna this afternoon, so that is exciting for me. I am leaving on Wed and coming back to Amsterdam on Sat! Everything seems so expensive in euro's but it will be worth it. I dont know when I will get another chance to go there. I am staying with Aunt Shar since she is there for `work`.....I am sure I will have lots of pics and stories when I get back. And of course KENT is going to miss me like crazzzzzzzzy *haha* or he will enjoy getting me out of the apartment. Im leaning towards the first one! =)
Kent had a game last night, and well it didn't turn out too great. 9-3 loss.... they fell behind early in the first period and couldn't play catch up. Kent has been paying really well (he sometimes doesn't think so) but he is very noticable on the ice. He has a game tonight in Galeen (approx. 2hrs south) but he is getting a bad cold and was not looking forward to it.
So I have the apartment to myself for the night-which means DOMINO'S PIZZA!! I have decided that Sunday is Donimo's night, since I am alone and usually not wanting to make food the easiest thing to do is order take out. Which i can do on-line, so its pretty easy!!!
Nap time, then pizza! What a hard day!

more, and more snow!

There hasn't been too much going on here lately except snow. It is still snowing here, and when it does it's like the entire city shuts down. They go into shock....they would never survive a winter in Canada. Some of our friends spent 6hrs driving home from work the other day when it usually only takes 25mins...crazy. Kents game was cancelled on Wed night due to the snow. We went out for his roomate Marty's birthday. We went downtown but there wasn't too much going on, we ended up at a Latin Salsa Club, and we were the only ones in the bar. So we decided to go somewhere else after one drink and ended up at another Salsa Club.haha. I think I may have enjoyed it more then some of the boys.
Last night Kent and I went to a bar called The Waterhole, they have a live band on Thursday nights. It was nice just the two of us out. Tonight they had a reporter come to the apartment to talk with Kent and Marty. There is an article going into an Amsterdam Magazine on Jan 23rd.
Kent has a game Sat and Sun, but we are supposed to get a storm so we are hoping they are not cancelled. Tomorrow is a home game, so I am looking forward to watching.
Hugs and Kisses from us!!!!!!!!!

Back in Amsterdam

Back in Amsterdam , are trip to Belgium was cut a little short becuase Kent had to be back to shoot a commercial for his team. Who knew my boyfriend was a superstar*haha. He got a text on the train that he had to be back by 12 Tues, which meant for an early morning and no touring =( . The time we did have in Antwerp was really good, it was to get out of Amsterdam and the apartment for the night. Our hotel was okay....thats about it. Kent wasn't even too sure about getting under the blankets....lol, but it wasn't t h a t bad. We walked to the Centrum where there was some shopping and lots of pubs and restaurants. It took us just over an hour to walk there but there was alot to look at on the way (and we did pass the street we were suposed to take so we had a bit of a detour, I think it was Kents fault haha he'll like that one) We went into a little choolate shop, and it can definately get expensive. We decided to buy a box of mixed chocolates for 27euro, we had no clue what we were getting. There is some really good ones then some.....different ones. We went to a place called Appelman's for dinner, it was very good. Our ceaser salad had an anchovie on it, whole. I tried mine but didnt eat it all, kent said no way. The steak was yummmy! We cant make anything like that here unles its in a fry pan. I didnt get to any diamond stores =( that was Tuesdays plans so.... maybe I will get to go back another time. We went to a pub not far from the hotel later in the night for a beer and it really started to snow. Its alot more pretty here when it snows (even you Brenda-I think would agree) which lead to a bit of a snow fight on the way back to the hotel. We had to get up at 7:30 to make the 9am train, which is extremely early for the two of us.
Your probably wondering what the commercial was that Kent and some of the other guys were in, it had somehting to do with...CHEESE! hahah.
Hope you enjoy the pics!!!!
