I am back in Amsterdam now, I flew in yesterday night. Just in time to catch the last 30sec of Kents game....which they won 3-2!!!!! Everyone said it was a great game to watch and that Kent played really well, its too bad I missed it.
Vienna was beautiful. The city is amazing like most european countries. On Wed night Aunt Shar and I went to a traditonal Austrian restaurant, where we had schnitzel, spaetzle and goulash (this was just the beginning of goulash and spaetzle). Thursday we spent the day at the Trade Show, I went off and went through the Exhibition where just about every country had a display. It was very interesting seeing what everywhere had to offer (although I couldnt read most of the info;as it as in German/Dutch, the pictures looked nice! ) I went to Dominican Republic where I got a Pina Colada, India where I became a princess, Tusian where I man made a tiny ceramic pot, Salzburgland which was like being at Oktoberfest.....so much to see and do.I went over to the Canada booth where I met the man running it who wouldnt even speak english to me.....he was German. And when I told him some stuff about Ontario he wasn't even sure what I was talking about. It kind of frusterated me a bit, I just wanted to go behind there ooth and take over. That night we went to another restaurant where we had spaetzle and goulash again.......and ended up a Pub which happened to be Karaoke Night. We did a few songs...but it was hard to take the mic from the Austrians who were very entertaining.
Friday I went touring on my own which was great because I got to see alot of stuff. The buildings are amazing there. I went to a Natural Historic Museum, which had just about everything you can think of inside. The dinosaur bones were really cool, again it was hard to read info since there was little english but it was like being in the movie A Night at the Museum. I rode the oldest Ferris Wheel in europe which gave you a great view of Vienna. I saw the Stephenson Cathedral which was gorgeous it looked like a massive painting in the middle of the shopping area. It was very gothic and dark which made it so fascinating.
And on Saturday evening it was all over. I would definately like to go back to Vienna there is so much more there that I didnt get to see but I am really happy I got the chance to go. I will put up a few pics I have ( I must have taken 300 of them)
Stace xx
